I received 3 boxes from China today… There were about 1000 regular 12mm bullet pixels as well as 8000 seed pixels and their associated “poppers” (holders) to allow me to insert them into coro props.
Those cables in the middle box are power balancing cables. They are used to take the input voltage and inject it throughout the prop. These particular cables have the ability to do 4 injection/balancing points so I do not have to cut and do solder tubes, I can just use the pixel end connectors. We will see how many seed pixels I can light from a single port on the controller.
EFL also sent to me my Showstopper Trees and stars. Of course you can’t let a box be shipped without being at full capacity for that shipping rate so I had them include a Bethlehem star as well. (not planned for this year’s show but thinking ahead) I haven’t looked at the wiring diagram on them but I would guess it is pretty straight forward since the prop itself does not have the wiring path marked out on it.
Still waiting to receive a couple of controllers. With the added props this year and the layout I am thinking I need a few more ports to make things easier. These are going to be Kulp controllers – first venture into that arena – running on a Raspberry Pi. I had a bunch of Pi’s lying around so I thought I might as well put them to use.
